About Conroe's Public Recreation

Finding a park in Conroe is not hard with over 25 different parks for its residents to visit. Large trees characteristic of this area are providing more than adequate cover from the hot sun the simple beauty of nature. One of Conroe's newest parks is the John Burge Park at Shadow Lakes. This park is over 39 acres and is located northwest of the Town's Center. This park includes new playground equipment, a mile long jogging trail, and an area where public art can be displayed for the community. Conroe also has three different public pools, two of which are heated indoor facilities and one outdoor. The two indoor pools are equipped with four different types and of diving boards/platforms, a lap pool and each facility also runs their own fitness programs and swimming lessons. The indoor pool is equipped with a splash playground and picnic tables.
